Where Is the Moment We Needed The Most

Hmm, updating. I don't often get stressed, but tonight at work I was tres stressed. Like shaky/clammy hands stressed. I had to write handbills, and process credit cards the Amish way. With a huge contraption that presses the numbers into the paper. Never again!
Nicky needs a job by Thursday. Everybody pray! I don't want to go another almost decade.
Deanna's coming back tomorrow. I need to adjust to another person living in the house.
School starts on Tuesday/Wednesday. I need to accept being a 5th year student. It's so bleedin' hard!
Alida's leaving on Thursday. Pray that she's kept safe and comes back more wonderful than she already is.
My dad needs to see a surgeon for his shoulder, and he might need surgery for his arm. He's not liking that.
I would like a car, and if I did get one I'd feel I'd have a lot more opportunities for things.
I'm tired and I'm going to bed.

Precious Declaration Says I Believe All Hope is Dead no Longer

The party last night for Alida was swell, and hey, we almost got the waitress to buy us a round of shots and/or dance on the table. If I had to choose, I think I'd go with the shots. I saw a guy from school there too. We never hung out, but he was pleasant to talk to in the halls. After the partay, I was invited back to Kat and Christians place to watch a movie, and I was pleasantly surpised at how good it was. If you have a chance, watch Luther. I saw some threads about the movie and it said it was Catholic bashing. I don't think it was; it was just just showing history. No worries Catholics, I don't think the less of you because of that movie. It didn't show the first reformers/Lutherans/Protestants being very friendly either.
So last night I woke up after being asleep for less than an hour and I thought I saw a spider, and I totally freaked out, and couldn't sleep for another hour. I needed to call somebody but really, who's up at 3 in the morning? Ok, I don't want to talk about spiders anymore. Must work!

Coming In Out of the Rain to Hear the Jazz go Down

I had the best night in a long time. I tagged along with Joya, after Quest, to Denny's with a bunch of her friends. I haven't laughed that hard in a while. It was great. Friday I'm going to Joey's Tomato's. I've never been there before; hope it's ok. I got my hair cut today. Well, more trimmed than cut, and I got some bangs. It cost $40 before tips! When did a trim get so expensive? Granted, she styled my hair, but she put so much product in there that I hopped in the shower and washed it all out before anyone could see me like that. I like the bangs; she did a good job, I just don't know if it was worth $40. Last year when I went there it only cost $30, and even that was expensive. When I went home and got Teri to cut my hair the most she ever charged was $21, and that was because she styled it; and boy did she ever do a good job. I loved my hair like that! I only wish I could do it to me! Well, I won't go there again!

Pack it Up, Pack it In, Let Me Begin

Ok, I can't hold it in any longer. Something must be said. Last week, I stumbled upon a music video for a new Backstreet Boys song. Until this point, their videos have been appropriate to their style of music. Not any more! In this music video, they play 80's rockers. I cannot let this go. They are dressed up like rockers, yet they croon. Yes, croon. Not sing, not rock. Is it just me, or does anyone else fail to see the relevance? I know Michael Bolton had mullets galore back in his nayday, but at least he did not wear the jeans and the shirts with the sleeves ripped out. He knew his boundaries and he stuck to them. No more, Backstreet Boys! Enjoyers of 80's rock lift your voices against this defilment!

The Game of Life is Hard to Play

So probably the most scariest thing that's happened to me in quite awhile: 2 guys walked into my place today. I usually have the door locked, but Nicky was coming over, so I left it open. I hear the chimes jingle, and I figure it's her. I was in the kitchen at the time making some breadsticks. All of a sudden I hear male voices. This is when I was getting a little worried. I go to the entrance-way, and these guys are on the stairs. I'm a little freaked out by this, and they ask me if this was the chinese barber shop. I had to ask them to repeat it, because I was so incredulous. I said that it wasn't, and they said, 'well where is it?' All I could think of is get the h out of my house, but I say, I've never heard of it. They say, well what number is your place? People, I cannot stress enough, do not walk into a house without knocking if you don't know what number the house is!

On a lighter note, due to a toe injury, I ran over 10 of my stupid injuries on my xanga site. Take a look.

Lock your doors people!

You've Got to Make the Morning Last

Woah. Last night...well in the morning actually I had a dream that I got engaged. It was at the Canadian Tire that Joya works at and she was there getting change, and all of a sudden, I was being proposed to. The ring was exactly what I wanted - not big and flashy because I'd break it. I wanted to call my mom, but I couldn't because I didn't know who my new fiance was! So close, yet so far away!
Another crazy day at work last night. I seriously don't know what some people are thinking. Ah well, I have today and tomorrow off, then I work Friday, then I have the weekend off. That'll be great.
Well, I do have to make some phone calls, which I've been putting off for a fairly long time.

P.S. Recently my friend Drew got engaged. Go here, and find out how he did it!

And I'll Meet You At The Station

Nothing funnier than a colt running headlong into another horse's butt. Good times. So Joya and I watched The Upside of Anger. Yes, I know it has Kevin Costner, and true to form, it was so unnecessarily long! The only consolation is that he wasn't really the main character. Oh, and he didn't try to speak with an English accent.
"Because, unlike other Robin Hoods, I can speak with a real English accent".
Confession: I'm terrified of thunderstorms. I can handle them during the day by myself, but at night, when I'm all alone, and the boom of thunder echoes around the empty house, I get all ascaired. I hope it blows over soon! Because, I do have to sleep; I work at 9 tomorrow. Ug, what a weekend.

Travelling In A Fried-Out Kombie

So one of my biggest pet peeves is people not being on time. The thing for myself is being on time. I'll be there half an hour early if that's the only time I can make it instead of being 5 minutes late - or "Fashionably Late". The computer at work - the one where we clock in at - is 10 minutes slow. That makes me 10 minutes late for things. I find that so unacceptable - granted, I have very high standards for that sort of thing. I do my part in being on time for work - couldn't they allow me the same courtesy for my other commitments?

And that's my paragraphical rant. I still haven't heard from Penningtons, but they can't guarantee me Sunday's off, and that's really what I want and need.

I can't believe school is starting in like 3 weeks. No one's around; it's so abnormal. Well, people are around, but not from school.

Dreams Aren't What They Used To Be

I can't believe I'm researching plants. I don't know where I get it from. My mom is such a non green thumb, yet I love it. Donna gave me a plant on Sunday - and I'm looking as to what it is so I know what to expect (believe it or not, mom has a fake one just like it). The newest plant I got is a ZZ Plant, or a Zamioculcas. I got it at Ikea yesterday. Turns out it's from Zanzibar and Tanzania, and it's pretty uncommon. Yet, I got it at.....Ikea. Wierd.

On a brief sidenote: "We could go to Zanzibar, with all the Zanzibarbarians." If you can tell me where that's from, you're all good in my books!

Well this ZZ Plant can go up to 2 weeks without being watered. Apparently, it's got tube-like roots similar to the potato plant that holds water. And the leaves hold water as well. Perhaps that's where they get their glossy look to it.
On a different topic, I have an interview at 2:30 today. Hopefully it goes well; and I'll get a definite answer as to what I'm supposed to be doing.

For Those About to Rock, We Salute You

I am so very tired. I halucinated for a good long time last night, and that usually means I wake up sick. True enough; Kim's not feeling too well. I've got my package for the Pepsi thing. Joya and I will be flying Air Canada. I've never flown them before. Hopefully they won't go on strike when we want to go there. This thing is pretty intense; there's this contract Joya and I have to sign, but there also has to be a witness. It's crazy. Good thing Kristin's around for a bit more. We're probably going to Cheesecake tonight. It's starting to be a tradition of ours.

Last night Trevor, Kristin and I went to Shakespeare in the Park, and boy do I know how to pick these things. Not only was it A Midsummer's Night Dream (my 1 of 2 favourite Shakespearean comedies), but they decided to have it set in the 80's, and all the fairies were hard core 80's rocker people. Nick Bottom and the players were Beastie Boy lovers, and the 4 lovers were Brat Pack-esque. Background music included Beastie Boys (duh), Billy Idol, Madonna, Edwin and whoever sings For Those About to Rock, We Salute You. Alright, I just found out it was AC DC. Me likee. I would so go again, but I also want to see Much Ado about Nothing. Oh well, it's only the first couple days of August; there's still time!

Ug, must get ready for work now. For those of you who know, I'm applying for another job, and my prayers are two-fold. To get it (of course) with the rate of pay that is the same or a step up, and that my current manager gets the store she wants, because she's the only reason I'm staying, and she's the only reason I'm hesitating about job hunting with more force.

Wake Me Up When September Ends

He's back. In a word: Eeep!

In other news, we have another quitter. That makes one on Sunday, and one on Tuesday. Super.
In something else quite unrelated, I recently saw the music video for Green Day's "Wake me Up when September Ends", and it is quite remarkable. I don't know the last time I've been moved from a music video. I've heard 3 of the songs from their new album, and I quite like it. I might just have to get it some day.
Yesterday I bought 3 DVD's for 30 dollars. The picks were "This is Spinal Tap", "Saved", and "The Graduate". I'm looking forward to watching them. Well, Joya and I already watched "Saved".

Sadly, that is the extent of my life. Nothing that exciting, except the prospect of being creeped out everytime I go to work!
